Call The Cops Story

It takes a lot for a person to be optimistic in the worst of times, sometimes having to choose between naivety and callousness. For Call The Cops it is neither but rather a sense of grace and gratefulness for the things that matter most. Your health, safety, ambition, friends and family. You would think not only losing love but also losing your home to a fire would bring the crushing weight of the World down on you but having that little time to decide between hopelessness and hopefulness will really show you who you are and where your perspective is at. A positive outlook can take you many places. Just ask Call The Cops.

"Almost all of our songs are about our personal life experiences. A lot of them are about girls, but in each song we tried to portray a different emotion. However, at the end of it all I think most of our songs are about finding the positive in negative times, finding a bright side, making the best with what you got" explains vocalist, Will Shuck. "For example 'Summer Ending to a Winter Night' is about your house burning down. Losing your house is a terrible thing, but nothing can compare to having your family safe and alive. Bad things are gonna happen to all of us, and I think feel good music is important to being happy."

Being happy indeed. From humble beginnings to a jolting, whirlwind start, Call The Cops have come a long way due to being positive and taking chances. They have just recently signed to MySpace records after recording an EP and being voted to stardom by fans across the World. Second vocalist Justin Allen elaborates.

"We had just recently started this band and just finished recording our first EP "Motion Sickness" when I was replying to some comments on our MySpace page and noticed a comment from a fan saying that we should submit our demo for a contest MySpace Records and Toyota were having. I called Will and told him to look into it and he registered our band and then there was the waiting period. We knew there would be thousands of bands doing the same thing so we really thought nothing of it and continued to write, tour, and promote until we got a phone call saying that we made it into the top 5 finalists.Kknowing that this was a contest where the fans basically pick the band they feel should win, we knew we were just stoked to make it into the final 5. Long story short, we ended up winning the contest because of the amazing support we received from our fans and we became a member of the MySpace Records family."
